Testing New Joomla Extensions from Pawel Nosko My First Impressions

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably addicted to Joomla. I’ve been building sites on it for years and I still get that little buzz every time I check the Extensions Directory. New module? You know I’m downloading it.

Unfortunately, finding quality free modules these days is becoming rare. Most of the good stuff is locked behind a paywall and hey, I get it developers deserve to be paid. But when something genuinely useful pops up for free, you bet I’m testing it the same day.

Today, two new modules hit the Joomla Extensions Directory from a developer I’ve been following for a while, Pawel Nosko. If you’re in the Joomla ecosystem, that name should ring a bell. He’s behind some solid, modern solutions that always feel one step ahead of what the platform offers out-of-the-box.

Let’s see what’s new, what they do, and whether they deserve a spot in your next project.

Who is Pawel Nosko?

If you’ve ever browsed Joomla’s extensions, chances are you’ve already stumbled across something made by Pawel Nosko even if you didn’t realize it.

Pawel is one of those developers who doesn’t just code modules, he crafts them. Based in Poland, he’s the founder of Design Cart, a company known for building top-tier e-commerce solutions and custom tools for Joomla, OpenCart, and WordPress. I first came across his work when I was looking for a lightweight, responsive carousel module… and bam there it was, simple, sleek, and totally free.

He’s the kind of dev who understands what site builders like me need fast, flexible, and no unnecessary bloat. And even though he works with major clients (I hear his team helped optimize Lidl.de, no big deal), he still shares useful stuff with the community. That deserves respect.

So when I saw two new modules from Pawel on the JED today you better believe I dropped everything and installed them.

First up: DC Map Google Maps the Way It Should Be

Okay, let me start with this: If you’ve ever wanted to add a Google Map to your Joomla site and felt overwhelmed, DC Map is about to become your new best friend.

This is one of those extensions that just… makes sense. No bloated settings, no weird hacks — just install, configure, and boom: a beautiful, responsive map right where you want it.

Created by Pawel Nosko and the crew at Design Cart, DC Map is clearly built with real users in mind. I mean, here’s what you get out of the box:

Set your exact coordinates latitude and longitude, no guessing games
Upload your own marker image forget the default red pin
Full control over map size and zoom no more fixed boxes that look off on mobile
Built-in Snazzy Maps integration seriously, over 3700 styles to pick from
Multiple maps on the same page tested it myself, works like a charm
Joomla 5 compatible and it flies on modern browsers

But my favorite part? It doesn’t require any coding. Zero. You just install the module, fill out a few fields in the admin panel, and you’re done. You can assign it to a template position, or drop it straight into your content with {loadposition} or {loadmodule}.

Need to show your office location? Branches? Event venues? Or maybe you just want a map that matches your brand colors (finally!) — DC Map handles all that effortlessly.

Oh, and did I mention it’s free? Yup. Totally.

Second pick: DC CarouselArticles One Carousel, Endless Possibilities

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again  the team at Design Cart doesn’t sleep.

Here we are with another fresh module from Pawel Nosko, just days after the last one. And yes, I was just complaining about the lack of free Joomla modules these days… but this? This is a gem.

DC CarouselArticles is built for anyone who wants to showcase content in a way that’s more visual, more dynamic, and way more engaging than Joomla’s stock layouts. Whether you run a blog, a portfolio, a business site, or a news portal  this module gives you full control over how your content appears.

Three Display Modes to Rule Them All

1. Review Mode – Testimonials Done Right
This one is genius. Imagine turning regular Joomla articles into beautiful animated testimonials. Just add your customer reviews as articles title = name, image = client’s photo or logo, text = their words.
Select Review mode in the module, assign the category, and boom a stylish, sliding quote gallery right on your homepage.

2. Portfolio Mode – Projects That Pop
If you’re showcasing work, services, or anything visual — Portfolio mode is the way to go. Each article shows as a thumbnail with a title and short description.
Clicking the image opens it in a modern lightbox viewer. No reloads, no redirects. Just clean, fast, and elegant presentation.

3. Article Mode – Clean, Classic, and Customizable
Need to list your latest blog posts or news articles? Article mode gives you a modern layout, clean typography, and full support for metadata like author name and publish date.

But Wait – There’s More…

DC CarouselArticles isn’t just a pretty carousel. It’s fully customizable right from the admin panel with no CSS or coding required.

Here’s what you can tweak:

Show articles from one or multiple categories
Control how many items are shown at once
Enable or disable author and date display
Use a lightbox for portfolio images
Customize every color and font: backgrounds, titles, buttons, quotes, nav arrows — it’s all in there
Responsive out-of-the-box looks great on desktop, tablet, and phone

It integrates seamlessly with Joomla 5 and works with com_content. And the best part? It just works. I had a demo running in 5 minutes, no joke.

Final Thoughts

Testing new Joomla extensions is one of my favorite things to do — especially when they’re built with care, packed with features, and, let’s be honest, still free. That’s exactly what I found today with the two latest modules from Pawel Nosko.

DC Map makes adding customized Google Maps to your Joomla 5 site almost ridiculously easy. It’s fast, responsive, and fully stylable perfect for contact pages, event locations, or multi-branch listings.

DC CarouselArticles takes content display to another level. With three powerful modes — review, portfolio, and article it gives you a flexible way to show off testimonials, projects, or blog posts, all without touching a single line of code.

Both modules are clearly made by someone who understands Joomla not just the framework, but the people who use it. Simple where it should be, powerful where it matters.

So if you’re like me and always on the lookout for Joomla gems before they get buried (or become paid), go check these out now. You might just fall in love with Joomla all over again.
